HELLO Kitty!

Well my friends, I have lived in my new flat for roughly 3 months now. It's in the suburb of Northbridge in the city centre of Perth, Western Australia. It is also slap bang in the middle of China Town. One of the many great things of living in this eccentric area is the Chinese grocery store that is a 2 minute walk down the road. There I found a truly marvelous thing in the form of biscuit dippers for $1.80 by no other than that bodacious broad Hello Kitty! Isn't Chinese food packaging just fabulous?

SPORTSGIRL SEARCH FOR A STYLIST COMPETITION

We spend so much time, effort and money buying beautiful heels and sparkly frocks in the hope that some special occasion will come up in order for us to wear it...so the poor darlings only get one or two outings. I for one have come across many a $5 op shop find only to ponder, 'But where will I wear it?'

Fashion is all about pushing boundries and an expression of one's own personal style. Once upon a time women only wore trousers to work in factories while their men were away at war, and after that they were only acceptable to do a spot of gardening or maybe the beach. In 1960 they entered the catwalk and years later Bianca Jagger opted for a trouser suit for her wedding where she married Rolling Stones front man, Mick Jagger. We thought we saw the death of the leggings and baggy t-shirt combo after the 80's and since then said outfit has only been acceptable for the gym and padding around the house, nowadays no girl worth her clutch bag wont have a drawer filled with black leggings to wear under dresses, shorts or for the daring, worn as trousers.

Basically what I'm saying is, toss the rules. Todays fashion is no rules. Make your own, it's part of the fun.

Why not don those outrageous leggings in the middle of the afternoon on a Tuesday? Put on the fabulous vintage find of a hat whilst shopping for flowers! Sequins aren't just for Vegas, bring sparkle to the bus stop! Shoulder duster earings and back breaking heels are perfect for that late afternoon coffee and while we're at it, who says you cant look fierce while shopping for tonights tea?

Sure people will stare....they're just jealous darling.

Fine Taste in Knitwear

Just throwing it out there, but are these the best jumpers you have possibly ever seen in your life? I took this photo whilst crossing the road in the city of Perth. Pity I didnt have my camera on me about a month later when I saw this magnificant couple in a coffee shop wearing....wait for it....knitted jumpers with the JETSONS on them! You can't make stuff like this up.
